If we are to give the best possible care to our patients, we must keep ourselves both mentally and physically fit. On this web page, Susan Hu shares her enthusiasm for CRNA wellness not only with her anesthesia colleagues, but with all interested health care providers. Recipe for Texas Caviar

1 can black eye peas (drained), sweet onion, fresh parsley, fresh cilantro, fresh red bell pepper, garlic salt, 1/8 tsp of cumin and chili pepper, rice wine vinegar 2 tablespoon, 2 table spoon red wine vinegar (again vinegar is to taste), 1/2 tsp of sugar, interior of celery stalk (3 small stalks with the green stuff), for the brave (1/8 tsp fresh garlic). 2 Tablespoon of olive oil.  Fresh ground black pepper.  Two table spoons of minced bacon.    Best to let sit over night in refrigerator (brings the full flavor out).

Recent studies have shown that the increase in degenerative diseases is directly related to poor nutrition and oxidative stress.  Our diets do not supply the cells, where health and illness begin, with all the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants they need to maintain optimal wellness.  Quality supplements (along with exercise and avoidance of chemical toxins) are a must in everyone's daily regime.
